Postgraduate research student: Nicolas Polfer
Biography
My home country is Luxembourg, but I have been over in Britain for quite some years now. I did my degree at the University of Edinburgh in Environmental Chemistry, one year of which I spent at BNFL in Sellafield as an industrial placement student. I then thought that management was my vocation and hence joined a small chemical company as a sales executive. While the travelling was nice for a while, I really missed the mental challenge of research. I did my undergraduate project in Pat's group and he offered me the chance of a life-time to work on his new Fourier Transform Mass Spectrometers. I started in January 2001 and have not once regretted to get back to Uni. (well that's a lie) Click here if you want to get to my home page.
